Thank you Brenna for sharing this extensive pointers on Remote culture and underlying communications principles within teams. I can relate to Make clear that trust is assumed, not earned and believe this assurance can go a long way in better productivity and work satisfaction.

I recently had the opportunity to give interviews with some great companies which also happen to have 100% distributed team. But I am finding difficulty in recreating same kind of response from other companies recently. You mentioned on having side projects and hobbies can make applicants stand out. I wanted to know do you review every applications you receive? What factors goes into shortlisting candidates for first round of interview?
